Description
This is a farmhouse and adjoining barn, likely built in the 18th century and extended in the 19th century. The structure is made of granite rubble with granite dressings and has scantle slate roofs. There are brick chimneys located over the gable ends of the house. The layout consists of a two-room plan with a wider hall and kitchen on the left and a parlour on the right, with a lobby entrance in between. In the 19th century, a pantry or dairy outshut was added behind the parlour, and a shippon with a storage loft or granary was added to the right-hand end. The front left angle, between the left corner and a former external stack, was filled in, possibly to accommodate an oven.
The exterior features two storeys and has a nearly symmetrical front with two windows. The doorway is located to the right of the middle but is central to the window arrangement. The door is a 19th-century four-panel design with flush-beaded bottom panels, and there is a small lean-to porch with granite monolithic sides and a slate roof. The sashes are boarded over. The barn has a doorway towards the left with a window above it, along with ground and first-floor windows on the right side. There is also a lean-to at the right-hand end. The interior has not been inspected.
