Description
The detached chimney at Polcrebo Mine dates from the early 1860s and served the nearby engine house, which has since fallen. It is constructed of granite rubble and features a brick cornice. The chimney has a round plan and a small flue entrance at ground level. Its tapered shaft is topped with a moulded cornice. This stack was designed to serve a beam pumping engine with a cylinder approximately 48 inches in diameter. The chimney is located in a prominent position near the top of a hill.
