4/166 Barn, north west of Nancegollan - Farmhouse

GV II

Barn with possible horse engine house. Circa early-mid C19. Granite rubble with dressed granite quoins, sills, jambstones and lintels. Hipped scantle slate roof. Rectangular plan with remains of small wing, possibly engine house, projecting at right angles to the front, left. Probably grain or fodder-storage over shippon. 2 storeys. East front has remains of projecting wing left, ground and 1st floor windows towards the left, doorway left of middle with loading doorway over, ground floor window midway between these and door with window over towards the right. Loading doorway also at the right hand end and at the rear. Top glazed windows to ground floor, shutters to the 1st floor window with central wooden mullions. Ledged or panelled doors. Grouped around an unspoiled courtyard of farm buildings relating to Nancegollan House qv and Nancegollan Farmhouse qv.
