Description
This is a detached chimney that served the beam engine house at Nancegollan Mine, also known as Florence United Tin Mine. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and was heightened around the 1860s. The chimney is constructed of granite rubble and features a roll moulded dressed granite collar, with a brick upper stage that has a moulded brick cornice. The collar was reused at a higher level when the chimney was raised. The chimney is round in plan and tapers in both stages. It is a complete detached chimney and is noted for its particularly fine granite collar.
