Description
This building is a barn located immediately south of Gear and Kerrow Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features walls made of killas rubble with some granite dressings and oak lintels that are reused ship timbers over the openings of the older section on the right. The barn has a long rectangular plan built in two phases. The older part on the right includes a doorway towards the left with a loading or winnowing doorway above it. The later section has a central loading or winnowing doorway and ground floor doorways on both the left and right sides.
The barn is two storeys high and has a total of four windows on the east-southeast front. The older barn on the right has an asymmetrical appearance with a doorway on the left and three old hopper windows on the ground floor, along with two 19th-century two-light shuttered windows on the first floor. The later barn has a symmetrical front with windows above the doorways on the left and right, and a small blocked window opening beneath the central loading doorway. The doors are ledged, and the windows retain their original shutters. The interior has not been inspected.
