Description
This barn, likely used as a granary and hayloft above a wagon house and stables, dates from the early 19th century. It features walls made of Killas rubble with granite dressings and has grouted scantle slate roofs with integral outshuts at both ends. The building has a long rectangular plan, with the wagon shed located to the left of the center, stables on the right, and additional stables at both ends. There are probably granite steps at the rear leading to a loading or winnowing doorway, although these were not inspected. The exterior is two stories high and has a slightly asymmetrical south front with one window. The wide wagon doorway is positioned left of the middle and has a keyed segmentally headed arch. To the right of the middle is a window above a narrow doorway, with a loading or winnowing doorway above it, and a similar arrangement further to the right. There are pairs of doorways on both the left and right sides, along with windows at the far ends, some of which have old ledged doors and shutters. The interior was not inspected.
