Description
Glebe Cottage is a building that was originally a mill, now converted into holiday accommodation. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of killas rubble with granite dressings on the front ground floor and at the right-hand end, while the rest is painted cob. The roof is made of scantle slate and has a half-hipped design. The building has a rectangular plan and is partly built into the bank at the rear, featuring a short flight of stone steps leading up to a rear loading or winnowing doorway. There is evidence in the right-hand wall of openings that were used for shafts to drive former machinery operated by external oxen or a horse whim. The exterior has two storeys and a symmetrical west front with one window, a central doorway, and a former winnowing window above. The doors and windows are from the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
