Description

The Holy Well of Saint Mawnan is a holy well, likely rebuilt in the 19th century, which originates from an ancient spring-fed well. It features retaining walls made of killas rubble. The well is covered by a barrel vaulted chamber that contains a sump fed by a spring. The doorway of the well is framed by a rubble triangular arch that leads into the barrel vault. Above the doorway, there is a reused medieval carved head.
