Description

Thomson's Seat is a garden feature located in Edgcumbe Country Park, dating from the late 18th century. It has a granite base, rendered walls, and a slate roof, showcasing a Neo-classical style. The structure features a small temple front with three bays, including antae and unfluted Doric columns. The frieze is decorated with triglyphs and metopes, and the pediment is adorned with modillions. Inside, there is a wooden seat with a quotation from 'The Seasons' displayed above it. The rear elevation also exhibits a temple-like design.
