Description

Timothy Brett's Monument is a Grade II listed structure located in Maker-with-Rame within Edgcumbe Country Park. Dated 1791, this neo-classical monument features a triangular base with concave faces, which rests on the backs of three tortoises. These tortoises are positioned on a fluted base. Each side of the monument displays a circular plaque, depicting Mercury and two Roman maidens, along with a Latin inscription dedicated to Timothy Brett. The monument is topped with an urn that has a flaming torch.
