Description

This barn, located about 5 metres north of Pengold Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century and was originally a cottage with an attached outbuilding. It has some small additions from the 20th century at the rear, front, and left gable end. The structure is built of slatestone rubble and cob, topped with a steeply-pitched slate roof. It is one room deep and features a massive chimney at the higher gable end, with a stable at the lower end. The ground floor front retains a 2-light wooden opening at the higher end, and there is a fireplace with a chamfered surround.
