Description

This is a small barn dating to the late 18th century, situated immediately north-west of Pound Cottage. The barn is constructed of granite rubble, with the upper section of the east front wall built of cob. It has a steeply-pitched corrugated iron hipped roof. The barn has a rectangular plan. There are wide barn doorways on each front, slightly to the right of centre, facing the former farmyard, fitted with 20th-century plank doors. A smaller doorway on the west wall, facing the road, has been partly blocked to form a window. Two ventilation holes are located under the eaves in the south end wall. The roof structure features collars halved and pegged to the face of the principal rafters. The barn forms part of a historically significant farm group which includes Pound Cottage, an adjoining linhay, and a linhay located west of Pound Cottage.
