Description
This barn, located approximately 20 metres south of Hampson's Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and features later additions. It is constructed from coursed thin sandstone rubble and has a stone slate roof. The barn consists of two bays, with outshuts added to each side of the northern bay.
The west side facing the road has a small blocked doorway positioned to the right of the centre, along with a slit breather to the right and three additional slit breathers above. The east side, which serves as the entrance front, features a square wagon entrance and an outshut to the right under a catslide roof, which includes a pigsty and a slab-walled pen. The south gable has slit breathers at two levels and a round pitching hole lined with brick. The north gable has two doors, one of which has been altered into a window, and the side of the outshut includes a stable door and a privy door. Inside, there is a kingpost roof truss. This barn is included for its group value.
