Description
There are two headstones located 7 metres to the north of the north aisle of the Church of St Mabena. The first headstone, dated 1770, commemorates the four children of Joseph and Mary Lashford: Mary, who was 5 years old, Harriet, who was 1 year old, Joseph, who was 3 years old, and another Joseph, who was 1 year old, all of whom died in 1770 and 1774. This headstone is made of slate and is rectangular in shape. The second headstone, situated to the north, is dedicated to Joseph Lashford, who died in 1796, and his wife Mary, who died in 1827. This headstone is also a rectangular slate. Both headstones feature inscriptions in upper and lower case lettering with serifs.
