Description
This group of four headstones is located 6 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St. Menefreda. The headstones date from 1750, 1776, 1781, and 1807. The northernmost headstone commemorates Thomas, son of Edward and Mary Vercoe, who died in 1781. It is a rectangular slate headstone with high-quality lettering. Next is the headstone of Edward Vercoe, who died in 1750, featuring a tall, narrow rectangular shape with a nowy head and fine-quality lettering. To the east of this is a small rectangular slate headstone for Joan Trethewey, who died in 1807. Finally, to the south is the headstone of Mary, wife of John Brown, who died in 1776, also a rectangular slate headstone. All headstones are inscribed with upper and lower case lettering that includes serifs.
