Description
The lychgate located to the southeast of the Church of St. Menefreda dates from around 1870 to 1875 and is possibly designed by J. P. St. Aubyn, who also restored the parish church. It features ashlar stone side walls and decorative slate hanging in the gable ends of its steeply pitched slate roof. The lychgate serves as the entrance to the churchyard and has a rectangular plan. The slate-hung gable ends are designed with trefoiled arches above the entrances. Inside, there is a 19th-century timber gate, and the structure has a waggon roof. This lychgate is similar in design to the one at the southeast entrance of St. Michael's churchyard in Porthilly, St. Minver Lowlands.
