Description
Trethevey Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with an extension added in the late 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and has a slate roof with gable ends that continue in a catslide over the rear service rooms. The building features brick axial and end stacks. The original layout consists of a double depth plan with a central entrance leading to a stair at the rear, two principal rooms at the front heated by end stacks, and service rooms at the back. The late 19th-century extension on the right side has a double depth range with a two-room plan, also heated by an end stack. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a regular three-to-two window arrangement. The earlier section on the left has a symmetrical three-window front with complete early 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash windows and segmental dressed stone arches with key blocks. There is a central 19th-century six-panel door with a 19th-century porch supported by cast-iron columns. The later 19th-century range to the right has a regular two-window front. The interior has not been inspected.
