Description

The churchyard cross located to the east of the southeast corner of the south aisle of the Church of St Mabena is a notable structure. It features a pre-Conquest wheelhead that has been remounted on a shaft and base from the late 19th century. The wheelhead is made of granite and displays a raised Maltese cross on both faces. The later shaft has chamfered corners, and there is a rectangular socket stone beneath it.
