Description
No. 2 Prince's Street is a house built around 1850, constructed from roughly-coursed rubble with granite dressings. It features dry Delabole slate roofs with coped gables and has a large stone lateral stack on the left side. The house likely has a plan that is three rooms wide and two rooms deep, with the entrance located towards the right.
The building is designed in the Tudor-Gothic style and has two storeys plus attics, presenting a nearly symmetrical front with two windows and two gables. The Prince's Street elevation includes a pointed-arched doorway to the left of the center, flanked by four-light flat hooded windows. The first floor features four-light transomed windows with trefoil-headed lights. The left-hand gable has three-light windows, while the other gable has a two-light window.
On the Duke Street elevation, which also has two storeys plus an attic over a basement, there is a string course over the basement that acts as a plinth. This side features three gabled dormers, mullioned windows, and a pointed-arched doorway with a hoodmould. The first floor has two-light windows with transoms and pointed lights, while the gables above have three-light windows with pointed lights. There is also a segmental pointed-arched doorway towards the right, with ventilated granite steps leading to a six-panel door. The interior has not been inspected.
