Description
Cabilla is a house that appears to date from the 18th and 19th centuries, although it may have an older core. It is constructed from roughly coursed granite rubble with dressed quoins and openings, topped with a Delabole slate roof. The building has a double depth layout with four bays, a rear wing, and an outshut, along with an early 20th-century wing added to the left.
The house is two storeys high. The windows are 16-pane sashes with horns, with the two centre windows on the first floor being smaller than the others. The entrance door, located in the third bay from the left, is a four-panel door with the upper two panels glazed, set in a plain opening. The roof is hipped to the right, featuring stacks at either end; the left stack is large, while the right stack is smaller and positioned forward of the ridge in the centre. The right-hand return has slate hanging on the first floor. There are modern windows in the left wing and rear wing. The interior was not accessible during the inspection.
