Description
Trenoweth House is a house that likely dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of granite ashlar with keyed flat arches, and the central section of the first floor is rendered, probably with studwork. The house features a hipped dry Delabole slate roof at the front and asbestos slate on the rear wings. There is a rendered stack on the right and an axial stack on the wing, along with cast-iron ogee gutters. The building has a double-depth plan with a rear wing on the left. It stands three storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window south front. The windows are late 19th or 20th century tripartite horned sashes set in wide openings. The central doorway is framed by a pilastered wooden doorcase with cavetto brackets supporting a hood, and it features a three-panel door with a squat overlight. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
