Description
Islington House is a house in a row, dating from the 18th century and partly rebuilt in the early 19th century. It features rubble walls with flat brick arches on the ground floor and wooden lintels on the first floor. The roof is steep, made of scantle slate and asbestos slate, with a brick stack at the left end and lateral stacks at both the left and right sides. The building has a deep plan that includes two parallel rear wings set at right angles. It is two storeys high with a symmetrical front that has three windows. The early 19th-century hornless sash windows have glazing bars. The central doorway is triangular pedimented and flanked by pilasters, with a moulded architrave and consoles. The reveals are panelled, and the door is a six-panel design with flush-beaded bottom panels. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
