Description
No. 2 Church Hill is a house in a row, dating from the early 19th century. It features rubble walls with stone keyed segmental brick arches over the windows, except for a concrete lintel above the left ground-floor window. The main doorway has an elliptical arch, and the roof is covered with scantle slate, topped by a brick stack on the right. The house has a shallow-depth plan with a central rear stair wing and is two storeys high, presenting a nearly symmetrical three-window front. The original windows are 16-pane hornless sashes, and the central doorway has an original Regency surround with panelled reveals, although it now has a 20th-century door. There is another doorway at the far left with an original six-panel door. Remnants of a former adjoining house can be seen on the right. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
