Description

The War Memorial is a war memorial built in the early 20th century to honor those who died in the First World War (1914-1918) and other armed conflicts. It is constructed from dressed granite, primarily featuring a rock-faced finish, and includes a bronze statue. The memorial has a tall, tapered chest that rests on a stepped, moulded base, topped with a stepped capstone that supports a bronze statue of a foot soldier in battle dress, raising his "tin" helmet in the air.
