Description
No. 2 Quay Street is a town house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century, or possibly earlier. The building features a stuccoed masonry front and a fairly steep asbestos slate roof with a brick stack on the right side. It has a single-depth plan with a carriageway on the left. The structure is two storeys high and has an irregular two-window front. There is a plinth and a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The windows are late 18th century or early 19th century tripartite hornless sashes with glazing bars. The doorway is approximately central and has a late 18th century wooden doorcase with a moulded architrave, a plain frieze, and a deep moulded cornice. The shop window on the right has similar detailing and features plate glass, while the wide carriageway is on the left. The interior has not been inspected.
