Description

This is a former Sunday school, dated 1836. It is constructed of rubble, with granite dressings, and the street elevation is rendered. The roof is covered with Delabole slate and has coped gable ends. The building has a rectangular plan and is built in the Tudor-Gothic style.

It is two storeys high and has a single-window range to the street front gable end. The ground floor features a plinth and a central doorway with a chamfered, square head and hoodmould, containing a pair of planked doors. Above the doorway is an inscribed panel reading "St Mary's Sunday School A.D. 1836". A string course leads to a chamfered window opening with a hoodmould, containing a wooden cross window. The side walls incorporate window openings with three-light wooden mullioned windows, lacking hoodmoulds. The interior has not been inspected.
