Description
No. 15 St Mary's Street is a town house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the early 19th century. The front features render that replaces the original stucco on studwork, and it has a hipped asbestos slate roof that is concealed behind a parapet. The building has a double-depth plan with a service wing at the rear and stands three storeys tall with a two-window range. The windows are 12-pane horned sashes set within moulded architraves, and there is a stuccoed plinth. To the right, a round-arched doorway is flanked by slender engaged fluted columns, with pilasters, consoles, and an open pediment, along with panelled reveals and a 20th-century door. On the left side, there is a simple 20th-century four-light shop window with flat pilasters and a fascia that features a moulded cornice. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
