Description

This building is a coach house located to the east of No. 11 on Cross Street in Helston. It dates from the early 19th century and features a front made of Elvan ashlar with granite dressings, including quoins and jambstones. The ground floor has flat arches, a first-floor sill string, and a round arch with a projecting keyblock above the central first-floor window. The side walls are constructed of Elvan rubble, with ground-floor openings spanned by flat granite arches that also have projecting keyblocks. The roof is made of scantle slate, half-hipped at the front, and there is a gabled brick stack on the right side. The building has a deep plan and is two storeys high with a one-window-range front. The central window is a horned sash with glazing bars and a fanlight head. On the left, there is a doorway with a 20th-century glazed and panelled door, and on the right, a taller carriage doorway with old boarded doors. The left-hand return features three window openings, one of which has an early 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash in a blocked carriage doorway, along with one doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
