Description
No. 9 Cross Street is a town house built in the early 19th century. It features elvan ashlar stone with granite dressings, including a plinth, flat arches, and a mid-floor string course. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and has a brick stack on the left side, along with cast-iron ogee gutters above a moulded fascia board. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall, with a regular three-window arrangement. The original windows are 12-pane hornless sashes. The doorway is located on the right and has an early 20th-century leaded glazed Art Nouveau top panel and overlight, along with a 20th-century wrought-iron door gate. The interior has not been fully inspected, but it is noted to have panelled window shutters on the ground floor, suggesting it may have further interesting features.
