Description
The road frontage wall to Lismore, including gate piers and a water pump, dates from 1844. The water pump is a fluted cast-iron design with a turned collar, finial, and shaped handle, attached to a granite ashlar pier that has a stepped top. This is flanked by low ashlar return walls and features an octagonal granite trough with a round bowl. There are three entrances in the wall, each with open wrought-iron piers topped with clusters of fir-cones as finials. Additionally, there is a lamp post on the right, made of turned cast-iron with a wrought-iron cage that has scrolled decoration. The top of the lamp post features twisted bars that ramp up to a point, along with a hanging bracket on the right.
