Description
The gate piers, gates, railings, and walls on the northeast and northwest sides of Waterhouse date from around 1800. They feature limestone ashlar piers with moulded cornices and square cappings. The double gates are made of cast iron, with spearhead and hoop-topped designs, and include dogbars. Spearhead cast-iron railings are mounted on limestone dwarf walls that flank the gates and extend approximately 36 meters along the lane to the west. Intermediate square piers are present, and the dwarf walls transition to revetment walls as the level of the lane drops below the garden.
