Description

This is an early 18th-century cottage situated on the north-east side of Monkton Combe. The construction is of coursed rubble with freestone dressings, topped with an asbestos slate roof featuring coped raised verges. A central ashlar stack rises from the roof. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays, with the end bay projecting and adjoining No. 2. It has three-light casement windows set within edge-moulded surrounds and beneath a cornice. A central panelled door is positioned within a moulded surround, sheltered by a flat stone hood supported by brackets.
