Description
The wall and gate piers at the Pump House and Pump Master's House in Biggleswade date from around 1906. The wall is made of snecked sandstone and stretches approximately 25 meters, featuring chamfered stone copings. There are six square piers facing the Great North Road, each topped with stone cyma recta caps. The wall is about one-third the height of the piers. At the north end, there is a circular entrance pier attached to the wall, along with a separate pier, both topped with stone conical tops and balls. The railings that once adorned the structure have been removed. This wall serves as the entrance to the Pump House and Pump Master's House, which are listed separately.
