Description
This description covers a pair of gate-piers and a garden wall located directly north of Pengelly Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. The gate-piers are made of slate stone rubble and are square in shape, featuring brick necks and ashlar stone ball finials on top. The garden wall, also constructed from stone rubble, runs alongside both sides of the gate-piers, with the right side extending from the left (north) end of Pengelly Farmhouse. In front of the house, there are three pieces of dressed granite from the 17th century that seem to have been the moulded necks of earlier gate-piers, and the existing ball finials may have been reused from these earlier structures.
