Description

GWENNAP PENGREEP SW 73 NW 6/154 Gate-piers and flanking walling at - about 150m east of Pengreep House GV II Gate-piers and adjoining walling. C18. Elvan ashlar piers, copings and quoins, otherwise rubble. Each pier is square on plan, linked to quadrant-on-plan walling. Each pier has plinth, ashlar shaft, knecking, moulded cornice and stepped and ramped pyramidal caps surmounted by ball finial. Adjoining rubble walls curved on plan have squared copings. Later braced wooden gate.
