Description
The Copperhouse Cottage is a small house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from elvan and killas rubble, featuring dressed granite quoins, jambstones, lintels, and slate sills. The roof is half-hipped and covered with scantle slate, with brick chimneys positioned over the side walls. The cottage has a two-room central stair plan, with the left-hand (west) room being slightly larger. It stands two storeys tall and has a nearly symmetrical south front with two windows. The openings are grouped slightly to the right, with a central doorway that has a 20th-century top-glazed door. The original windows are 20-pane hornless sashes. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to be little altered, making this cottage an unusually complete and unextended example of its type.
