Description

The Village Hall is a village hall dating from the early 19th century, located in Gwennap Churchtown. It features walls made of Killas rubble with granite plinths, copings, quoins, sills, jambstones, and voussoirs. The roof is hipped and covered with asbestos slate. The building has a layout consisting of one large rectangular room and an additional room in an outshut at the rear of the north end. It is a single-storey structure with a symmetrical five-window south front. The plinth is prominent, and there are tall late 19th-century horned 30-pane sash windows in the original openings, which have shallow arches with projecting keystones. There is a doorway in the middle of the west wall and a 24-pane sash window in the middle of the east wall. The interior is very simple, featuring a stage at the east end and services located within the outshut.
