Description

Jubilee Hall is a village hall that was originally a chapel, built around 1840 to 1850 and converted in 1935. The building is constructed of rubble laid to rough courses at the front and roughcast at the ends and rear, with a stone rubble stack topped with 20th-century brick and a slate roof. It has a gable-ended design facing northeast, with a left (southeast) end stack for the vestry. There is a single-storey ancillary block on the left end. The front features a once-symmetrical arrangement of three tall Tudor arched windows with glazing bars, displaying a Gothic pattern in the arch. To the left of the center, there is a porch made of brick and corrugated iron from 1935, with a plaque above it inscribed "Jubilee Hall, 1935." The original doorway on the left end wall has been blocked. The hall faces an attractive square by the churchyard, surrounded by buildings of various dates.
