Description

Axmouth Village Hall is a village hall that was formerly a school, built around 1840. It is constructed from stone rubble and features a slate roof with stone coping at the gable ends. The building has an L-shaped plan and is a single storey. The gable end facing the road has a Y-tracery window, while the gable end to the east includes a three-light window with intersecting tracery. The remaining windows have straight heads with mullions and transoms. There is a later gabled stone porch located in the angle of the building, which has a four-centre arch doorway and a shield above it displaying initials and the date 1894. The hall is included for its group value.
