Description
The lych gate at the Church of Saint Wenappa, dating from the late 19th century, features rubble and dressed granite walls. It has a half-hipped dry Delabole slate roof with crested ridge tiles and is designed in the Gothic style. The structure is square in plan, with identical north and south open ends that include cusped pointed arched doorways flanked by plinths. Above the doorways are two tiers of moulded corbels that support moulded wall plates and arched-braced terminal trusses, which end at collar level with small hips. Inside, there are side ledges and a central coffin rest, along with a rafter roof.
