Description
The lychgate located to the southeast of the Church of St Padarn is constructed from rubble stone and features a gabled slate roof. It has arches on the west and east sides, supported by stone voussoirs. The oak roof includes a pegged arch-braced collar truss with a strut above the collar. On the inner wall, there are recessed seats on each side towards the east, along with rebates for iron gates on the west side. The floor is cobbled towards the east. In the center, there are fine iron gates dating from 1814, topped with an arch that is infilled with Gothick interlaced bars and adorned with wrought iron finials. The gates feature a horizontal rail at three-quarters of the height, spearhead bars below the rail, and two curved strengthening bars across the upper part that meet in a Gothic arch.
