Description

The lychgate at Llanrhychwyn Church is a square structure built in the 18th century from rubble. It features a gabled roof covered with old slate and has rubble gable parapets. There are openings on opposite sides, each with exposed timber lintels. The northern opening is inscribed with the text: 'IT ID OT 1462 WO,' which refers to the churchwardens, although the number 4 has been recarved and should actually be a 7. The lychgate has a pegged oak frame and an early 20th-century plain oak gate. Inside, there is a rough stone slab floor and narrow stone benching along the eastern and western sides.
