Description

61 and 63 Fore Street are an early 19th-century house and shop with living accommodation above, located on the south side of Hayle. The front of the building is rendered, with an asbestos slate roof between the party walls. A large, tall brick stack is situated at the right-hand end. The building plan features a double depth, with a parlour to the left and a shop to the right, flanking a central entrance hall. Service rooms are located at the rear. The exterior is two storeys high and features three windows facing the street, arranged symmetrically except for the original, early 19th-century bowed shopfront on the right. The central doorway has a 20th-century door. Circa late 19th century, four-pane horned sash windows are present. The shopfront remains original and unaltered, with 12 panes at the front and three panes to each sidelight. It has a moulded entablature. A doorway leading to the shop is set back to the left of the shopfront. The interior was not inspected.
