Description
Cremyll Boatyard consists of a pair of attached houses, with No. 1 on the left and No. 2 on the right. They were built around 1800 and have undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The houses are constructed from limestone random rubble, with the front painted, and feature a hipped slate roof shared by both. There is a brick ridge stack that serves both houses, and No. 1 has an additional brick stack at the left end.
No. 1 has a double depth plan, with a central entrance leading to a passage that connects two main front rooms, and a staircase located to the rear left within the passage. It is 2½ storeys high and has two windows on the front. The central entrance includes a 20th-century porch and door, with 16-pane sash windows on either side. The first floor has 12-pane sashes, with the right window being original and set in an exposed box. The second floor features two small 12-pane replacement sashes and a central round-headed 6-pane casement.
No. 2 is also 2½ storeys tall and has a passage along the right side, with a room to the front left. It has a 20th-century porch on the ground floor that encloses a 12-pane sash window on the left and a door on the right. The first and second floors each have a 12-pane sash window. The right side of No. 2 has a blocked doorway and a blocked window at the first floor and attic level. The rear of the house includes a 4-pane light at the first floor.
Inside No. 1, there is a straight staircase with stick balusters, but the rest of the interior and No. 2 are not accessible.
