Description
The Estate Offices and Gardener's Lodge, located in Edgcumbe Country Park, date from the early 19th century, appearing to be from around 1820 to 1830, although they feature rainwater heads dated 1785. The building is roughcast with a stone rear and has a parapet band. It has a symmetrical layout with two square blocks connected by a slightly lower rectangular section that includes a carriageway at its center. A large lean-to is attached to the left block.
Designed in the Tudor Gothic style, the structure is two storeys high. The central archway is flanked by small windows and slight projections, with three windows on each side. The windows are flat-headed and feature two arched lights with mullions and transoms. The building has a battlemented parapet, and while the roof is not visible, the Tudor carriage arch reveals a seven-bay vault with a moulded wall plate, ribs, purlins, and ridge purlins. On either side of the archway, there are panelled doors that lead to plain stick baluster staircases. The rear elevation displays the dated lead rainwater heads.
