Description

The Offices of Millbrook Steamboat and Trading Company, likely originally an outer lodge at the ferry landing for Mount Edgcumbe House, date from the early 19th century and incorporate earlier features from the 17th century. There is a 20th-century addition to the left that is designed in a similar style. The building is constructed of sandstone random rubble with granite dressings, while the 20th-century addition is made of rockfaced rubble.

It is a single-storey structure with a single room plan, and the addition is at the same height, forming a second room. The front features two re-used granite doorways that are hollow chamfered, with four-centred arches and leaves carved in the spandrels, and these have 20th-century doors. There is a blocking course and an embattled parapet. The attached 20th-century addition on the left has a single light and a late 19th-century clock with a gable fixed to the wall, with the blocking course and embattled parapet continued. The original building has large quoins.

On the right side, there is a re-used single granite light with a two-centred arch and a roll-moulded design, while the left side has a 20th-century light. The rear has a similar single granite light on the left, and a 20th-century block that steps forward to the right, featuring a window on the side and rear. The interior has not been inspected.
