Description
Karenza is a house located on Churchtown Road in Illogan, likely built in the mid-19th century. The structure features squared granite rubble that is laid in courses, with quoins and a slurried slate roof topped by a brick chimney. It has a double-depth plan and stands two low storeys tall with two symmetrical bays. The building has a plinth and a central doorway that contains a glazed and panelled door. On each floor, there are two four-pane sashed windows, all with exposed boxes and slate sills. Each of these openings is framed by quoined jambs and rectangular lintels. The chimney is positioned at the left gable. The rear and interior of the house have not been inspected. Karenza is part of an attractively stepped row of three houses, with Perkers located to the right, and is included for its group value.
