Description
The gatepiers, gates, and railings at the north entrance to the churchyard of the Church of St Illogan are made of dressed granite and feature cast-iron railings and gates, along with a wrought-iron lamp arch. Likely built in the mid to late 19th century, the structure includes a set of four plain granite posts that stand approximately 2.5 meters high, each with rounded tops. The central pair of posts are widely spaced and support a 4-centred arch made of wrought iron, which holds a central pendant lamp flanked by scrolls and topped with a finial. The gates and railings on either side are mounted on a low chamfered plinth and are designed in the Gothick style. They feature slender shaft bars with alternating spear and trident tops, trefoil-headed panels, and low dog-bars.
