Description
This is a barn and flanking outbuildings located on the west side of the yard at Ivey, dating from around the mid-19th century. The structures are built from granite rubble with dressed granite quoins and feature slate roofs. The central barn is two storeys high with hipped ends, and it is flanked by single-storey outbuildings that have gable ends.
The barn has a layout that includes shippens on the ground floor and a threshing floor above. To the right, there is an open-fronted outbuilding, which may have served as a cart shed, supported by granite piers, although it now has internal partitions added. To the left, there is another single-storey range that was originally open-fronted, but its openings are now partly blocked, while the granite piers remain in place. The barn features shippen doors and ventilation slits on the ground floor, along with a central door on the first floor flanked by two narrow slits.
