ST EWE SW 94 SE 3/34 Stable about 30 metres east of - Trelissick Farmhouse

GV II

Stable. Early C18 with few later alterations. Slatestone rubble with granite dressings and quoins. Hipped bitumenised slate roof with ridge tiles. Plan: Stable with four entrances at ground floor to stalls and loft above containing a pigeon loft. The stable is built into the bank at the rear. Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical front. Ground floor has four doorways with granite jambs, voussoirs and keystones. The doorway to end left is blocked with ventilation window inserted. At first floor there is a central large loading door, and smaller window to right and left. Between the windows there is a row of square pigeon holes with slate perches. The left end has 4-pane window at ground floor and a triangular arrangement of pigeon holes above. The right end has blocked loading door at upper level and triangular arrangement of pigeon holes. At the rear, there is a central loading door leading directly into the loft. Interior: Not inspected.
