Stable About 30 Metres East Of Trelissick Farmhouse

This stable, located about 30 meters east of Trelissick Farmhouse, dates back to the early 18th century and has seen few alterations over the years. It is constructed from slatestone rubble with granite dressings and quoins, topped with a hipped bitumenised slate roof featuring ridge tiles.

The stable is designed with a symmetrical front and two storeys. The ground floor includes four doorways with granite jambs, voussoirs, and keystones, although the doorway on the left end is blocked with a ventilation window. On the first floor, there is a large central loading door flanked by smaller windows on either side. Between these windows, a row of square pigeon holes with slate perches can be found. The left end features a 4-pane window at ground level and a triangular arrangement of pigeon holes above, while the right end has a blocked loading door at the upper level and a similar triangular arrangement of pigeon holes. At the rear of the building, a central loading door provides access directly into the loft. The interior has not been inspected.
